Laying them on their side is fine, but if you're worried you could use the egg carton method. Just cut the bottoms out of the carton so very little of it is actually touching the egg, then sit them in there air cell up.

But I've lost a few that pipped low, and the carton sucked up the moisture and they died. So this time I hatched the BCMs lying down.

i have houdans,buff ophrington, and cochins, the humidity has been around 50% but the last like to days it has gone up to 60%
