They are messy.... I am not seeming to mind too much. I have only had them for a year though. I built a 6x10 pen to keep them in my garage during the winter... I completely change the bedding once a week to keep it nice and clean. I am going to build a pen outside for them to use during the day time... and then they will come back in at night. For right now - I carry them out to a chain link dog run that I have.... one by one... they probably would follow me, but don't want to chance losing any of them. I love their silly personalities.....

I bought 14 Cornish Crosses from them just before I found out about this. I've lost one and there are two more than are in the same condition. Donna helped me out with some immediate vitamins and electrolytes and I had hubby get me some new food the next day... hopefully they will pull out of it.
TIA - all my chicks are 2-4 weeks old right now and living in the bottom of an old, dead chest freezer
I HAD Ducks. Golden 300 Hybrids. I thought it would be fun to habe Duckies, but they went to a new home when they were 6 weeks old.
Too messy, and WAAAAYYYYY too stinky!
When you get the chance this next week, Give Alaska Mill and Feed a phone call and ask for "Ken". He is the CEO/Owner?,...I think thats what he said.
Anyhow he has a huge interest in this whole mess. AMF can't seem to find out what has been going on. According to him they have not taken anything out of their feed but have
indeed added a new vitamin of some sort.....but 5 out of the 9 chicks I have here had problems
until I switched their feed yesterday to Nutrena and giving them water soluble vitamins. They are fine now, but their toes were curling up on them and they were
"scooting" around. My birds were hatched by me....so they can't blame it on Triple D when Im having the same problem.

Yeah, I saw those crippled birds, and what Anthony told me was they were returned by a woman that didn't believe they had a vitamin deficency. He told her that's what it was but she wouldn't believe him or change her feed, add supplements etc. Then she posts an add on craigslist about how she got bad chicks from triple d, admits he told her what it was and she doesn't believe him.
He tried to fix them, has had them for a long time now, and they were just too crippled to be saved. It's sad.
I also went and picked up a couple of extra bags of Nutrena, I'm afraid that when this gets around, there could be a shortage, lol. Especially if Anthony starts buying it, he goes through a lot of feed!
Oofta what a busy week! Just finished the spring horse clinic and now Im sunburnt and tired! I got the ducks in the "quack house" fence posts in and square now and ready for wire tomorrow along with the whole dug for the pond. I have just noticed also that my eggs are gonna hatch next week when I will be in Anchorage......
Oofta Im ready for bed! Hope all is going well with everyone.
