Break up of marriage suddenly dictates unexpected move. Just had bought 18 HEALTHY chicks from Triple D and now can't keep them. Also includes heat lamp w/ bulb, bedding, bag of food and their kiddie swimming pool that they are currently housed in plus food and water dishes...everything you need to get you started with chickens!
18 Chicks include:
5 Americaunas
2 Astrolorps
4 Buff Orpingtons
4 Barred Rocks
2 Whites (I forgot what they're called)
1 Fancy Polish
by AT&T Sports Center off Palmer Wasilla HWY. First person with $15 cash gets the whole flock and fixings

Haven't been following this post too closely for a while, but I also had trouble with I believe bad feed. I bought two 25 lb bags of chick starter (on the bag it says poultry feed, but the slip on the bag says chick starter). It is Nutrena. But my chicks were not gaining weight, and then I had a couple die and I could feel how thin the rest were. They are two weeks now and are feathering, but very thin. I switched as soon as I realized what might be happening, and they are much more lively and are gobbling their feed up! I'm using the chick starter from Budget feed in Palmer. Switched to it about 3 days ago. I have been using Poly-Vi-Sol in their water with ACV right along, and was using a little sugar in the water because the Poly-Vi-sol is so bitter. Now that they are doing better I am just using ACV in the water. I think the feed may have been mis-labled(?) Not a fun experience!

I saw that ad but when I clicked on it, it was to late. Oh well. I dont need any more except that cochin Im getting this week from Ban. My wife about flipped whey I brought 3 cochins home on saturday. Course my mom wants me to pick her up a silkie if I see one for sale and keep it for her.

All of a sudden my huge coop is gettin small! I just love these chickens. Best pet ever. Tonight we had a huge bbq in the backyard and the chickens just milled around in the crowd. Everyone loved them. And the chickens loved the food.

we are on day 10 with (Speckledhen ) our 14 Barred Rock hatching eggs.....I will be candling tonight.
I need to get some craft plastic to make a little cage basket for the 2 B/B/S Orpingtons that were also sent.
only 11 more days to go.....
I will post candling report later........due to too much light from little window, I have to wait until late evening to candle!

You'll probably have to order them. I have not seen anyone advertising that they have them.
And Triple D is the only hatchery around here.
