And it worked for the other Roo also?
Cause dog on it, I think I'm going to go that route!
Quick, efficient, and gets the job done (if it works).

Any objections anyone? I don't want to do anything that might hurt Rust. I love the little Turd!

Ummm, I would not do it except as a last resort

I wish I could threaten Rusty like that. Unfortunately, the little booger is "Immune". I love him SO dearly. I can't see myself ever eating him.
The Hens, well, Yep, sure as Heck, once they are done laying, they will be eaten, but I just can't do that to Rusty.
At least not until he start shooting blanks! LOL

I don't know mine well enough yet...LOL I have had the geese for about 8 months and a purposely did NOT name them in case they were all boys. I still am not sure as I don't have eggs. The chicks are only 3-5 weeks old, so no attachments there yet.... except for Onyx.... my lil Barred Rock...

I usually break them by a) knocking them off the hens, or b) mashing them into the ground just like they do with the hens. Do that a couple of times to them (not rough, but firmly) and they get the hint. I have one rooster that lunges at everyone except me... cuz I'm the head roo.

All nine of them!
I did pull one egg on day 12 or so, because it was not fertile.
I will get some pics, once they are out and running in the grass in a day or two.
Hen does not want to get up yet.

hmmmmm...I'm tempted. I have several broodies right now. Thing is, I am hoping they hold out till we get meat chicks.
I will be hitting a wall soon, as most of my birds are almost 18 months old, and molting is getting under way.
My golden lace is a sight to behold.
Being a cochin, she has massive amounts of down to keep her covered. She looks like a giant chick

speaking about Roos,
Does anyone despur their roo?

My Light Brahma Roo is not a year old until the end of May, but he gashed a hole in one of my Barred Rock hens the other day with his spur! Right now he is in a separate pen, till I can figure out what to do about the spurs out of 32 hens only 3 seem to have all their feathers ....

If I didn't like the chicks so much I would stew him, but he throws beautiful babies!

Our roo is a cochin, and only 1 1/2, so his spurs are still blunt nubs. They grow very slowly.
I anticipate taking them off to protect the hens, once they are longer.
I guess you just twist them off.
And, I'm guessing a pair of pliers might be needed. And leather gloves.
