Hmm, interesting concept, then I could still just lift out the straw in the spring and have sand for the summer. We'll see... gotta see what sand costs.

I don't see that sand is much colder (if any) than dirt. Wood's warmer of course, but I still put hay over it.

I've been in and out since Dad is in a pretty bad way, but I saw the chick pics and they were cuties! Don't you love the spitzes? I think they are my favorites for looks.
