Donna how old were the Faverolles when you brought them to me? I have one that is an absolute love bug! I put them all in the new coop just TODAY and when we closed tonight I took them a treat, all the rest of them were eating away and she came over to where I was sitting and craned her neck and chirruped at me, so I picked her up and she sat on my lap for almost an hour! Mind you, there has been daily feeding, watering and interaction with these guys, but NOT to this extent...

Hey all, do your chickens molt the same time every year? Someone on another forum was saying that they shouldn't be going into molt/molting now, unless something "threw" them into it. When are they supposed to molt?

They sure are

So they are about 2 weeks older than the rest of my flock. The Barred Rock I have is friendly too, as is the Welsummer. Gotta work on the rest

Crap that's not good, that means mine are gonna be molting in OCTOBER!!

Mine have all molted at 12 months, which is this time of year.
