Oh no WW! I'm so sorry, you did so much for her.
Looks like I'm in the same boat(culling) with a turkey I bought yesterday. It's a week old, and isn't walking like the others. It has something wrong with it's legs, and I don't know what... I'm really surprised it's lived this long. Unless something happened in the box on the way home.

It can kind of hobble around with it's wings out, but then it's exhausted. Poor thing.

We refuse to have bronze around here. We were told last year by folks on here that
bronze are famous for leg problems. We had a big tom that was raised up that had leg problems, he was happy and healthy
he just hobbled around. It has something to do with the knees. We have had good luck with the whites, but they all grow
so fast, it's not much different than raising broilers....

Sorry Im slow! I was looking for the write up on the Bronze turkeys and their knees lol

If we do turkeys again next year we'll go with the standards. I know it's nice to have a
big bird at T-day but it wasn't something I want to do again. I'd rather have a smaller tasty bird that'll live a normal life
instead of needing special treatment. That's just us though.....we ended up with a turkey so large we couldnt cook it, it was cut up, brined, and smoked.....

Now if I can just talk hubby out of raising Cornish crosses!
