I'm about the same, 30-40% for the first 18 and then 60-70% for the remainder.

Just keep the middle troff full, at day 18 fill them both. Make sure the water you put in
there is pretty warm so you don't have to use up any heat to heat the water.

I'll probably order my next one from GQF, they are about .50 cheaper than cutler and
I had a good experience getting my first one from them.

Of course, then there's these... 5 weeks old (there are actually 4 of them, not sure where that last one is hiding).

I looked at those Aimie, and I see a splash in there (bottom pic) , But that rooster is a cross. Handsome though. Are any of these purebred?

Deb, They did have 1588s at the Animal Food Warehouse and the price wasn't too bad as I recall. That was a month ago.

I just don't know, here is what her cragslist ad says;
Blue laced red Wyandottes: These are beautiful birds, dual purpose layers of brown eggs. They are easy going birds that tolerate cold weather, but still need a warm coop in the winter.
Notes: I did a little cross breeding a few years ago to increase the vigor and quality, therefore not all of the chicks will be true to type. You can expect some birds with black lacing and single combs and rarely a white bird. Last year about 75% of my birds showed the “blue laced red” pattern as described in the standards. This year I expect to have closer to 80% of the birds to be a good Wyandotte type with the blue laced red color pattern. All of the birds are nice looking, vigorous, and good layers of brown eggs

Translated I think that means "almost but not quite purebred". You would probably get some nice birds but if you want purebreds, I don't think you will get them. That blue gene isn't reliable anyway and I wonder what other colors she gets from that. What do you think?
