Mine were Presley and Jean.... Which is pretty much Greek to me.... Or a rock n roll singer who I guess really liked chickens?
i know some of those sites are pretty expensive, and that's before shipping.

I have some Blue Coppers coming this spring from Bev Davis, actually a friend of hers in Seattle. I am waiting patiently to get that email that says your eggs are ready!

Oh my eggs came from Oregon, and they were 30.00 (including shipping) for 6 eggs, on Ebay. She sent me 3 extras. I wanted to get them from a source as close as possible since the USPS are such creeps sometimes. I just thought the closer they came from the less stops for mistreatment

But really, they are worth more up here to me because they aren't being subjected to all that, so the hatch rate is bound to be better.

Thats not bad at all....

I figure being local and all should help as well. I'd be happy to trade you babies down the road if you'd like. It always helps to mix up the genes a little. It'll be a bit though, I know the breed needs some work and plan
on doing my part to only send out the best that I can. That means working on what I have here first..

We'll keep that on the burner then. The eggs I got were really very nice, and dark, better than I had hoped for, but I don't want to have too much inbreeding going on.

Pandora, what do you have in this batch?
I've got Faverolles pipping. I have tried them THREE TIMES!!!! I might get some this time

good hatching Vibes for you

the green eggs (2) are Light Brahma/ EE
but the other 3 could be

Pure Light Brahma
Light Brahma x Rocks
Light Brahma x NHR
Light Brahma x Black Sex Link

I just randomly chose 7 as that was the empty turner tray I had for this batch.
Normally when I started hatching, I would bring seperate 3-4 hens from the flock and collect from them for 3 days, then add to the incubator.
Since I have never used these incubators before I needed to do a little fiddling with it, so I figured to use my own eggs, rather than waste money & time....
I think I have the incubator figured out. It has cool spots, that I need to avoid putting eggs in or I need to rotate eggs, when I candle them.

The (2nd incubator) Hatcher gets a temp spike every 5th day of running of 104, which drops humidity. So it needs a fan kit I think.

but for now I have 5 still in the incubator (1) and they will be there until they hatch, to see how well that one works all the way through, I will be upping humidity to 65% for lockdown.
