I must have been way tired last night....
spent most of the day & evening in Fairbanks, then drove home to clean brooders, feed & water everyone, because I had been gone all day. Next out to the hen house to gather the afternoon laid eggs, clean and refill the water for the morning. when I finsished my bath, I went over to turn off the plant light and when I unplugged it, I shut off the Surge suppressor (at the same time), so none of the brooders or incubator had heat lights all night. I went in this morning and thought I had blown a breaker.......nope not the case, temperature Day 6 in the incubator 74 degrees, well darn it.
As this was supposed to be the last hatch until it warms up out side I feel totally upset. I turned everything back on, I will candle later tonight to see if any of the eggs will make it.
I am soo mad at myself. I should have just left the plant light on. It would not be the first time I had......
I have 1 chick the worse for wear, my little yellow & white Runt. Looks like she was the victum of everyones strugle to get warm, they picked a small whole in her skin on the right side, so she will have to remain seperate for a bit to heal, otherwise everyone seems fine.
I am lucky in that room is always 72-74 degrees and no drafts; or it could have been so much worse.
