Yea I wouldn't let her have them. It sounds like shes just not wanting to be a mom........I don't know
if you know this but rabbits only feed their babies once a day and we usually don't see it. I do it twice a day just to be sure
they remain hydrated..... I'd just keep doing
what your doing....how old is she now? If the babies have a pasty butt it sounds as though they may have some Cocci? But then, she may sense something we
don't know too.....I can only hope nothing is wrong with them but the moms will always tell you by rejecting them or eating them. Mamma my best doe in
the world who has kindled many babes, she ate a litter when it became cold outside. The only thing that made sense to me was that it was too
cold for her and she decided she couldnt care for them.

They're only a couple of days old... can they get cocci that fast?? I wonder if we could move them to Annie. Her babies are 5 weeks old now, and we're getting ready to split them up. She's still nursing them (not that she has much choice when they pounce on her!)

Ooh Tori I'm sorry. I hope they do okay. My parents(I should say my dad) raised meat rabbits when I was little, I remember one time some neighbor kids got into a nest box after the mama had just given birth, she killed all of them.
Crazy little critters.

Yep, if mom has Cocci, they can get it overnight. With pasty butts though you'll
have to watch them extra close, it'll kill the little ones overnight.

You might give Sheryl a yell and see what she suggests. I used an eyedropper with
one litter I had that got cocci to get some antibiotic in them but you have to
be very careful with that, it destroys the flora in their gutt. A vet can give
you a rabbit safe cocci treatment...

And not to be left out, here are the little Dellie kids.....

I love baby bobwhites! And you know, I used to look at Dellies and think "Meh... how boring. Plain little yellow chicks." But I tell you what, those dudes have 'tudes!! And it shows in the photos.

You're right Tori, they scream `tude!

I can put my hand in the brooder and they are like a bunch of Parana's. The BCMs just kind of stand back and watch while all the
little yellow guys go nuts.

I found that I have 2 commerical brooder boxes! Hurray, now I am just hoping that they work. I have one standing in the bathtub, as soon as it thaws, i will be cleaning and disinfecting it. So I can see if it works, then I will bring in the second one. With the brooders being stackable, that will allow the chicks, more room for the first two weeks.
