Jeez Tori - that sounds like some of those standardized test we took in school... It's long enough anyway!

I can't believe they really expect you to answer all of that!
I don't think they know THAT much about what they are asking..."How does a hen fertilize an egg?"

I know... it's just another one that I think I will ignore... but we've had fun coming up with off-the-wall answers for them! LOL!

I got a rude wake up call this morning. I heard this LOUD screaming coming from one of the chicks in the spare bathroom. I jumped out of bed, threw on my robe and ran as fast as I could with sleep
in my eyes to the bathroom. Slapped the light on and looked into the brooder to see who was killing whom........

Here was one of the "girls" standing there by herself, screaming at the top of her lungs.........

She had stepped in a huge pile of poo and was NOT happy that it would not come off her foot.....

One of the first chicks (of 5) that Tori sent would stand in the middle of the brooder shrieking and stretched up as far as she could reach...Until someone sat down and talked to her. Everything was fine then. We call her Chicken Little....It wasn't like she was lonely or anything.

It means lady hawk (or female hawk, but one wouldn't usually distinguish a bird that way) ... I know, what kind of name is that for a chicken person? LOL It is Scottish gaelic.

Last nights Candling.....
very interesting.....
Eggs developing, but seem to be a different stages..... so I will lockdown on the 5th as scheduled removing the turner and replacing with egg cartons. Looks like it will be a very long hatching.
I will be setting new eggs as soon as the turner is available.
