You lucky dog! We ordered ours directly from them, too, in 2008...

Sorry dear but your incorrect. I got a call from GQF the day they were shipping your 1502, someone noticed that we were in Alaska and the shipping charge didn't calculate correctly. They refused to honor the quoted price so I cancled the order. After shopping around I found the best deal came from the Randell Burkey (sp) company out of Texas. I had to talk with their manager and explain the shipping to Alaska problems but he came up with the best rates on ups ground shipping.
We got the 1502 for the same price GQF listed but saved a bunch on the shipping.

I went with the blue x blue because I knew I would get a greater color selection on my hatch.

And, boy, did I ever... blues, blacks, whites (splash?), white crested blues, and white crested blacks all in the same hatch. Now to see if anything develops into something worthwhile for showing/breeding.

Polish do fine up here. You just have to be careful in the winter that they don't end up with icicle covered crests. Some folks actually give their top hats trims at the beginning of winter.

I also had a nice rainbow hatch out of some Ameraucana eggs (blacks, blues, whites (splash?), and a couple odd balls). The hens were covered by an Araucana roo and some of these babies look like they have side whiskers rather than muffs and they look like they could be tailless. Keeping my fingers crossed. Now, if Holly would just send some Araucanas my way...

Sorry, Holly, I don't know when I'll be in town again but my friend will be coming up that way on Thursday to deliver milk. I really want some self blue D'Uccles...

Trims huh? Now that's an idea... I will have to remember it next winter. I got my Brinsea from Randall Burkley and it was the best shipping quote anywhere I looked.

Here are some pics of the brooder my DH made for me last year. It's about two and a half by four feet...yes it's in our living room, until they get old enough to be moved to the garage. Our garage is heated, but they're so small right now, I like having them close by.

The names, by the way - are awesome!

Hey thanks lol i pick weird names...... also go with themes each hatch as it helps remebering them now.... um they are a test run with all eggs coming from a pen with silkies, hamburgs and frizzle so a surprise i guess!! lol

altho they pipped yesterday they are taking such a long time - i hope my humidity isnt too low!!! its been 24 hours and they havnt done anything in that time... their alive as the eggs wobble and i hear peeps i just dont want them to suffocate!!! SHould i help break the membrane or something!?!?!

How did your hatch go Morri?
