Shoot, Donna, I can candle them from 2 feet away with that thing!!!

I am beat... I went to the mill and shoveled something like 15 bags of shavings today. Filled up my little pickup! Then I get a message that the State Vet is in Homer today, and wants to swing by to do his inspection/sampling TOMORROW, instead of 2 weeks from now. I have a full trailer of

poo/shavings that I can't do a thing with, and no room to clean out any more pens!!

Oh well... he gets to see how we normally operate, then, which is probably a good thing. Problem is, I need to get a brooder ready for the chicks that are arriving at the PO tomorrow morning (

) ... will be a late night, and an early morning. No rest for the weary... or the wicked.

Oh... and remember 2 weeks ago when I accidentally left some BC Marans eggs out overnight at day 7??

One has a very red face, and another is mostly white on the chest... I've not seen the white before, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the ones with more red at birth are usually boys??

I have been out mending the field fence so the horses can go in. The smaller pen is now a quagmire... That extra 16" was a mud maker. The girls hate it and have let me know its time to move. That's in addition to 100 other things. I usually don't move them til the end of May, but this is nasty.

Well, you all know what they say about excuses.......PaulaJoanne, you can say all that again and add sloper, build a garage, dog shows, rabbit shows and trips to Whittier.....In TWO WEEKS!

I have no sympathy for any of ya! (humph)...Guess it'll just be Donna and I......we'll find time to do the rest of it later.
