I think the upright might help when the humidity spikes during hatching..Maybe they aren't so likely to drown

? All the ones I hatched were like that, once they got serious it was quick!
How long does a turkey take?

Good grief, Im on cloud nine right now!

The two BCM's have that bluish hew to them that you were talking about Tori. It'll be interesting to see what they are....

Donna they say turkeys can start pipping at day 25 sometimes taking 2-3 days to actually get out of the shell. At least that's what
I have read. This will be my first turkey.

Ashia, I wanted to tell you that the handle solution for the Hovabator is sheer brilliance...

I wish I'd thought of that ...Duh! Lifting that lid drove me bonkers. Tubing a great idea also...

Keep an update on how that goes with the turkeys. It's very interesting and I'd really like to know how they do.

Earlier, I gave one of our broodies eggs to hatch.
8 EE/Cochin crosses, and 2 Black/White Cochin Xs, and one that remains to be seen. Could be white, could be a buff/white

She is a huge Cochin, so she should have no problem covering 12 eggs.
The Silverlace has eggs due any day now. I forgot to mark the day I put them under her, and when I candled them Saturday, they looked to be on day 13, or 3/4 filled.

If we ever do BCMs I will remember this......though I wonder what happens under a broody......

Here's the set up they had...

The top one here shows the pip.....

After this photo was taken it shot up to 79 % humidity. But you can see the blue hue...This will be cool if they are blues!
