Broodies are better at it than us...We are just trying to keep up!

It would be interesting for someone with a broody to put some BCM's under her and see how that goes.

Thank you. I took a look at Amy's Bator and I thought "Oh no no no. This thing needs Handles!"
When I got mine, first thing I did is get the handles on it.

I CAN'T take credit for the Tube though. That was ALL AMY.!!!

I made her a promise that when her Bator is done cooking, I am going to put handles on hers for her as well (I already bought them).

A bit of advice. In case anyone wants to do the Handles.
When putting the handles in, you have to be REALLY careful. Since it's thru styrofoam, if not done the right way, you end up demolishing it instead of puncturing it.
I started out with a large sewing needle, and worked it in slowly, rotating it while inserting. Then I used one of my small knitting needles and re-pierced the same hole, again working it in slowly.

Once the hole was made, I slowly screwed in the handle screws.

Worked like a charm.

How many of you think Tori has ran to the kitchen and started cutting up egg cartons?

If someone were to bring me 2 or 3 no later then tomorrow noon, we could give it a try! I just stuck these ones under her a few hours ago.
Hint, hint out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, whoever does it can have them back

ETA: I do have two others that are threatening to brood, Just need a few days to verify for sure.
I can pull them to their own private suites and give them a practice egg to try it out.
My cochins are brooding Queens!

I'm in Willow. 20 minutes "north" of Wasilla. So 45 minutes from you, if you are in Palmer proper.

I wonder if it would be a better test to do a full set under a broody. I need the 12 under this one for my flock, but can be sure of the other two crabby ones by the end of the week.
I will get them set up tonight.

What does everyone think?
I am up for an experiment to help you all.
Plus, it might be best to keep them seperate......
