Everyone is giving me hatching fever again, and I can't have ONE more chicken!
Until I get rid of a couple roos.

Aimee, the only thing that sucks is you want to try to keep the
best boy or boys around for yourself. That usually means keeping them around for a few months
until they show you what they have. I'll probably be hanging on to the last two boys here until I see what comes out of the Cree chicks.
Which means lots of boys running around here!....UGH!

Unless of course you don't want roos.....then thats a whole different plan all together...

Question for those of you that use Welp for your Meat birds.
Is it best to set it up so that the chicks are shipped on a Monday?
How long has shipping normally taken?
Is there often a waiting list?
Those of you that use the Wasilla PO. Do they call you to let you know they are in?

I think we are going to go with all Males this time, and since that ups the cost a wee bit, I think Welp will be the best choice.

Paula, they only ship them Monday-Weds, they tell you when their
next available shipping date is...you'll have the day they are shipped, then one whole day and the PO will call you that next day usually
in the morning, No later than noon.

I parted with my 4 month old BCM rooster today....

His color is beautiful ,and his comb, and his body but no feathers on his legs so I wasn't going to use him. He'll be someone's dinner ,but not mine....

Oh Donna, Im sorry to hear that!...It's always hard when you raise them and then
have to part with them. Mondo and Splint have a place in my heart as well but we can only
keep so many. Go out and love on Mondo....he'll love you for it!

Mondo is a sweetie and when it came down to it he's probably my guy. He's sticking around anyway! the hard part is the Marans (so far) are gorgeous boys and I'd like to keep them all. Mondo is the only one I have left.
