When I was there, there were several cages with chicks that couldn't walk or if they did try to walk, they were walking on their hocks. I was rather surprised that they had them out on the main sales area and not in a quarantine area. I'm glad to hear that the chicks are doing better.

I've got bobwhites hatching. 36 out of 44 pipped or hatched so far. Should have some guineas hatching this week too.

That's what I'd heard. They changed their formula or something and didn't have adequate vitamins added. I feed AMF but didn't have any trouble but I always add vitamins to my chicks' water. Guess I was lucky.

I THINK they have resolved that problem at 3 D.
Deb, where do you get food grade DE? I want to have some on hand.

Maybe tomorrow Bonnie.... It's been crazy here and tomorrow doesn't look a lot better. I really want to get by there!
Tomboy? Good vibes for a fast recovery! No way to spend a summer, but hope in the end it's all good!

Tomboy, we wish you a speedy recovery!

I woke up this morning to a 100% hatch rate on 6 BCM eggs. They are some of the biggest and healthiest chicks
I think I have ever seen!

Donna, I bought mine on Ebay quite sometime ago. If I find some locally I'll certainly let you know!

I think the shipping is just too hard since there is an extra day on getting them here.

I seen movement in only one egg out of the 11 shipped eggs. I have 2 with bloodrings and the rest look clear, no development at all.

Anyone know where I can get LF Pure Barred Rock eggs in Alaska?

If not I will have to find someway to get them express mailed to me....

Today started out with me stuck outside ( i went to collect eggs) and my grandson (he was still sleeping) stuck inside.

The door knob decided it would stick and refused to turn, even once that was removed, the button was stuck in the stricker plate and we had to pry the door away from the jamb to get me inside.

Luckily I have good helpful neighbors as I was near panic, I didn't even have my cell phone with me.......

So now I will have to replace the door knob and there is nothing open in my little town to get one today.

I will have to get more eggs.... but first I would like to try to find some locally as I am now way behind on my plans for the flock.
