That's too bad... sounds like she throws good litters.

Disheartened yesterday morning... ordered chukars and pheasants from Dunlap Hatchery in ID... despite their reassurances, the shipping took 3 days.

They sent twice as many pheasants as ordered, and I only lost 5. They sent a few extra chukars, and I lost over half.

Spent the better part of yesterday morning trying to save lives. I wish my own birds were laying better...

But on a lighter note, today's the day I candle eggs sent from Miss Prissy... All orpingtons... 6 dozen, minus the 5 that broke in transit.

Cynthia, I still have the black orpington hen that I hatched from your eggs last year... everyone ooh's and aah's when they see her, as she has the prettiest face.

She throws beautiful chicks with Bob, too. I think I am finally going to be overrun with orpingtons this year.

Not a bad place to be!

I have 12 Dellies in lock down for someone who wants Dellies and two BCM eggs that I'll try to stick under my broody
when they hatch. Then I have the 5 Cree eggs that'll be in lock down on Tuesday and I'M DONE!!!!!

I had to pull an egg from under a broody that was cracked... stink-eeeeeee!!!
I have 5 good MP eggs under a broody, and the rest are in the incubator. I hope to get at least a few!!

I am going to candle Kiche's Call ducks today. It's day 8.

He just wants a couple, but those eggs came from Washington and 4 were smashed. There's 10 in the bator, but I suspect half of those may be scrambled.
