just tried for blue this year, and now most of our chicks have blue mixed with another colour. will keep trying for pure blue

Not the best, but working on blues in the Ameraucana breed. Need better lacing, but I think this elusive blue Ameraucana hen has a solid color. It's also molt season, so expecting better feather color once she is done.

They love it! My chickens spend all summer in the sun! Of course, when winter rolls around and you only have 2 hours of sunlight and it's cold...well, they don't love that as much.

It’s easy to supplement for daylight. I was just wondering if snacking at midnight had any health effects on the ladies.

I don't think anyone would love 2 hrs. of sunlight and COLD.

It does not have any negative effect on them, in fact, most of my chickens roost outside during the summer!

they just get a snack whenever they feel like it

in the winter we put the water inside, so they don't have to face the cold as much.

although my Orloffs really enjoy the cold.
