It was @BY Bob who told me on his thread about the ‘fluffy butt Friday’ tradition in BYC. I took some pics yesterday then forgot to post them!

Better late than never...

Could I ask for some help please, oh wise ones?

Coop cleaning. At the moment I have pine shavings in the nest boxes which have stayed remarkably clean. How long should I leave it before replacing it completely?
Also, I have soft builders sand on the droppings board under the roosts. I use a cat litter scoop to pick out the droppings and any obviously damp patches. Should I completely replace the sand at any point, or can I just top it up?
How often should I completely muck out the coop, wash it down etc?

I have pine shavings in the nests.. I never completely change that..or haven’t had to as of yet... I will pick out if there is any poop and I just add more shavings if needed.. I also have sand under roosts.. just scoop out daily.. and will add when needed.. but at some point I might change it out.. but I’ll leave it for a long while before I do that.. plus, I find that if you only keep it about 1-2 inches deep it is easier to keep fresh.. also add PDZ..

I don't use sand & I do a clean out every 3 days or so [i compost the stuff so not whinging about it]. I will do a good scrub out shortly & change everything & spray for mites & bugs. I've got hemp in the nesting boxes, which is super absorbent & doesn't need changing all that often.
