Proud of my girls!!

L - R Delta's, Echo's and ???

We have a third chook laying! Not sure who it is yet. It is smaller that the others, but I know that doesn't necessarily mean it is from the smallest hen, which would be Charlie.

Charlie does appear to have been checking out the nest boxes over the last few days though. But she is meant to lay blue/green eggs - again, I know that is not a guarantee though!

Blue has been doing the chicken bow quite a bit though, so maybe it is hers? Who knows?!

You have to love the first eggs. So rewarding. Congratulations!

It's great when they all start laying...then you can start bribing the neighbours!

Hope you get a blue-green egg soon Ali! :fl

Morning all; its 07:50 here in the UK at the moment, and I have had an interesting morning with the chooks.

I think Blue maybe the third layer based on her goings-on this morning. I let them out this morning and she has been in and out of the coop ever since, kicking the wood shavings all over the place, yakking her head off. Echo booted her out of 'her' nest box, so Blue had to try the other one; kicked the shavings everywhere again. She is rather unsettled this morning, making quite a bit of noise which is making me a but uneasy as we have a lot of close neighbours.

I had to laugh at one point though; Echo went into the nest box and began rearranging the shavings after Blue had trashed them all, tucked the dummy eggs underneath her and generally tidied up. Blue went back into the coop and stood watching her and commenting on everything.
I was rather reminded of trying to use the loo in peace whilst my son wanders in to watch and ask me lots of inappropriate questions!!
