I talk to my birds. A lot.
I also talk to other creatures... a lot. Titmice at the feeder? I talk to them. Crows flying overhead? I'll say a "thank you" for harassing the hawks. Spider on my wall? Say a little "hello." Stinkbug on my desk? I will probably name it and talk a little bit to it before completely forgetting all about it for a week.
I also sometimes talk to plants. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to step on you," or, "Poor thing, you're all wilted."
This isn't that weird, considering that I talk to our woodstove, but yeah. I talk a lot to things that aren't human or even sentient.
:highfive: Sistah! I once wanted to take a camera shot of a caterpillar ripping along down a bridge railing at a high clip. I asked him to please stop so I could get his picture, and he froze! I thanked him and took several shots and walked on. My SIL, who was with me, stayed and watched him a bit, then called me. She said he still hadn't moved. I went back, thanked him, told him I was done with him and he could carry on, and - he did! He just went ripping along on his merry way again. My SIL sure gave me the side-eye after that! 🤣

Woah, that's awesome! 🤣

I am just as excited to see if her eggs will hatch and see pics of the baby's as I would be with chicks (ok, almost as excited😂)
They were layed quite late... maybe even in December. I don't remember exactly when, but I know that the spiders are supposed to have their eggs layed and then die at the first frost. I think also didn't see any male. I still hope they hatch! We find those cat faced spiders a lot, so I'm sure they'll be more even if her eggs don't hatch.

Awww, he's so cute! Great picture! I would love to see your sketches!
I tried starting a bird journal a couple days ago, so that's what the sketches are in! Ignore my terrible spelling if you read it...

I think the book I'm using for it is way too big! It makes it almost impossible to fill up a page! It's 11'' by 14''. :p

Hey everyone! This morning I found a cool red centepied on my trampoline. I
like how his/her feet move like a wave sorta.

Sorry! Does anyone know how to get a video on here? I cant attach it. The video was so cool b/c you could see the legs moving like a wave.
Wow, that must have been really cool! I think I've been able to attach a video without it being connected to YouTube. I think that was before the update. (Of course it's too late to get a video of that, though).

That's me. I love talking to the crows and you can use all their noise to find interesting birds of prey. Last time it was a great horned owl who was just ignoring them. I talk to all the daffodil and other Sping bulbs and encourage them to keep growing, or warn them that a cold night is comming!

I do this too! All bugs, especially beetles, are "Buddy." I chatter randomly, and whisper to myself while watching birds ( you can never be to quiet to startle a bird!). I talk to plants too.

I love it! I love all your side notes and different angles. You're a great drawer! I've been meaning to start a field journal, but so far I only draw birds from pictures. I'm doing a bird-a-day challenge this year, but I'm on bird 47 and I'm supposed to be past 70

I found a plant in my yard that might be Goutweed, which is invasive here and I've heard it spreads quickly and is hard to exterminate. We won't be sure that it is Goutweed until it is older, but to be safe I spent 45 minutes digging up all the roots I could. I would be a fool to think I exterminated it, but hopefully I hindered it. I saved a couple shoots in a pot to be my houseplants for a while until it is old enough to positively identify!
