All-around Naturalist Thread

I'm going to be following this!
Me and my dad could both classify as 'naturalists' I suppose -- We really love identifying different birds, plants and animals.

Wow! Beautiful pictures! I especially love the second one, there aren't very many places here in New Mexico that can compete with all that greenery!

I've also started keeping my own plants, they bring so much life to my bedroom!
As you can see, they're not all planted yet.

My orchids. I had them in another room so I forgot about them for a while, plus they aren't staked. That's why the bigger ones don't look as healthy. The yellow one is brand new!

i have found quite a few different things. (one for the fact that i survey 3 different property's and two each are in a different area so different animals around)
the first list i got,
foxes, coyotes, weasels, coons, jack rabbits, mule deer, white tail deer, moose, elk (only a horn found never seen one), Hungarian partridges, sharp tail grouse. skunks,


the second list i got is from our north Property, about 3 miles from the Boreal forest.
foxes, coyotes, wolves, cougars, lynx, marten, fisher, mink, weasels, wolverine, skunks, otter, coons, black bears, white tail deer, elk, moose. ruffed grouse, spruce grouse.

Wow, I wish we had some of those around here!

I love house plants! Do you have them all by a South facing window or use artificial light, or do they do just fine? Just curious!

I use natural light. Not sure if it's north or south but they get a lot of morning sunshine

Nice! We struggle with all the plants in the windows and for the ones further back we have to resort to artificial light!

It's okay it they die, I've killed several succulents in a row before getting the hint that succulents aren't for me! I
Out of curiosity, what types do you have?

I stopped receiving notifs from this thread, anyway. On top of my chicken pen, my dad put a bird house, and in that bird house, are three eggs, and on those eggs, is a house wren! I'm excited for the babies to hatch out!

So, March is one of my favorite months for a few reasons....

I'm excited to see how the House Wren's hatch goes! Have you considered reporting it to NestWatch? I like to do that because it makes me feel useful
