Self blue birds do not have any other color in their feathers other than blue. They are solid blue from tail to beak.
This is true, but self blue in UK standards (& many other Englsh speaking countries, I believe) refers to andalusian blue with no edging. Solid grey/blue throughout without lacing, such as in UK blue wyandottes & others.
There are many names for the ways lavender expresses depending upon country. In many European countries it seems to be referred to as "pearl grey" in many languages, which seems a pretty good name to me.
