I know what you're thinking, "well, Uzuri, 5 outta 6 ain't bad" and normally I'd agree, except that this one hasn't settled for a bit of pecking and flapping, she wants to rip them limb from limb!

I would have expected that if anyone was unhappy to see the new ones it would be the alpha hen (she just rolls her eyes at them) or the omega hen (she seems to want to be friendly with them; they're scared of her), but no, this is the beta hen, and she's flipping her lid. This morning I just put the little ones out and put her in their cage-within-the-henhouse so that she couldn't hurt anyone, but having someone, anyone, separate from the rest is a pain. Will she get over this? Or am I going to have to cull her?

What is the size difference? If she is much bigger she just might "rip them limb from limb". I think I'd keep her seperate till she's knocked down a bit. Maybe then she'll leave them alone. I had to seperate my "flipping her lid" hen for about a week , in the house.
She was much better after that.
