Echo Valley Feed in Auburn is running a sale on layer feed from July 4th to the 10th. $2 off per 50 lb bag of feed. I'm definitely going to stock up. Thought I'd pass it along.

Thanks for the heads up on the feed sale at Echo Valley! What brand is on sale? Are other varieties, such as flock Raiser on sale? I'm in Grass Valley and Echo Valley is my favorite feed store

I just came from Echo Valley Feed, where I bought FlockRaiser (because I have so many different-aged birds) for $15.99. I don't normally buy Purina, but they didn't have Nutrena products, so I don't know if that was a deal or not. It was a bit more than Nutrena would have been at my regular feed store - a whole dollar and 1 cent. Whoop te do. Plus a five lb bag o' chick starter, supposedly for my GrandChick and Buffy....... but....

----I also came home with 4 more chicks!!! What is WRONG with me???

There was this bin o' bantam breeds on sale, 3 weeks "plus" - buy 3, get 1 free. Who can resist?

Two light colored EEs - I'm still trying to get one that feathers out all white - and one GLW. BANTAMS! That's only 1.5 chickens, right?

Oh, and the free fourth chick was a Black Jersey Giant, which was not supposed to be in that bin but they honored the sale.

As I was pointing out likely candidates, the young lady who assisted me did say, twice, "No, that's a rooster." So, even though they're sold as straight run bantams, she still tried to identify their sexes for me.

(She missed on a bantam Buff Brahma some weeks ago, which new2chooks warned me about. And which I ignored, thinking this was a DIFFERENT bantam Buff Brahma.)

So, new2chooks, thanks again.
