I am the same way, especially when I see an old war veteran sat the store, I usually shake hands and thank them for their service!That's very kind. I try to appreciate and honour things - they carry history.
Well, I definitely noticed how bright orange the yolks wereThose were actually the wild duck eggs - see how big the yolk is relative to the white. That is the duck that got scared away by the raccoon from her nest just by my pool.
She later returned with 6 ducklings so I don't feel bad taking the eggs the raccoon left behind.
