They seem far more active! Is it too soon for them to go outside or have they been out already?
Kelly is completely healed and could go out but I need time to be able to sit out there with them and see how things go.. Kelly is one of my oldest gals but is always at the bottomThey seem far more active! Is it too soon for them to go outside or have they been out already?
That's wonderful progress!Kelly is completely healed and could go out but I need time to be able to sit out there with them and see how things go.. Kelly is one of my oldest gals but is always at the bottom
Rosemary is 95% healed but I would leave her with Maryn until she is all better. Unfortunately, I noticed a stuck clump of feathers on Maryn’s back so I washed her again today to get those off and she has another bad wound under thereit did not look bad for not being treated this whole time without meds
Thank God for that!!!! But I feel so bad for not checking her over better
… One of the wounds on her hiney is all better! And the other side is looking great too
I rehomed Tony and his favorite gal Abby (they are both the silver laced Wyandottes) to a wonderful home where the children may show them in 4-H!! So outside I have my two leghorns Minnie and Daisy…. and three new ones from this year.. two Prairie Bluebell Eggers and an EE… they are Ducky, Moonsie, and Ash. It’s very strange cuz there are only five out there and they are all tiny chickens.. which is extra weird for me because I have always had big fat bottomed gals!!
But soon the big gals will be back out there and hopefully Maryn and Rosie will be back on top in no time!! Those two have been the top gals since I lost Ruby a couple of years ago. Minnie is in for a rude awakening!
Thank you MJThat's wonderful progress!
It can be hard to see what's going on under all those feathers. At least Maryn's wounds are doing well and maybe she'll be OK again in a few more days.
They are looking quite good!
I would consider waiting to move all three at once rather than breaking up the group. Reintegration will be easier for them as a group.Kelly is completely healed and could go out but I need time to be able to sit out there with them and see how things go.. You are managing this all exceptionally well.Thank you MJ![]()
Oh no! I moved Kelly out alreadyI would consider waiting to move all three at once rather than breaking up the group. Reintegration will be easier for them as a group.
Well, keep watch as I know you will. Only intervene if it gets too rough. Things will settle soon enough. They will work out out.Oh no! I moved Kelly out alreadyShe was pecking at Maryn which is very odd cuz Kelly pecks no one! But she might be taking advantage of her being down and out
And I thought Minnie would be the problem but it was Daisy
Minnie was totally fine with her and the young ones certainly didn’t mess with her… so hopefully Daisy just wanted to let her know what’s what. I think Daisy probably treats her that way always![]()
