All My Chickens..... a coop opera!

*SPOTLIGHT*
Breed: Black Australorp
DOH: March 2018
Name: Maryn.. pronounced Mare-in
One of the OGs
The GOAT!!
Second in command under Rosemary.. is a very fair leader… never a bully… would sit in my lap ALL day if I let her! If I go sit in with them she will peck me HARD until I pick her up🥰 she is my nearest and dearest.. my all time fave! She survived the dog attack… now mostly lays around… she walks with a limp but will still come running (as best she can) for treats and can still manage to get up and down from roosts. She also tolerates the heat better than the others. View attachment 4191390View attachment 4191391
Don't forget to pet that doggie ♥️ 🐶

Okay @rural mouse I still say a girl but “she” sure acts like a boy 😣 7 and half weeks old… and Snickers is also concerning me cuz “she” has wattles… do Silkie girls get wattles?? And these two have always been so friendly.. and I hear boys are usually more friendly 😱

At 7.5 weeks, that red straight comb with the little wattles hiding in those frizzled feathers REALLY makes me say cockerel, but slow developing. The silvery silkie....no idea yet.

Oh man! He must be extremely slow cuz all the other boys were so pronounced at three weeks old! It’s crazy! That’s why I kept holding out hope! 😭😭
