We are very close! Ignore the funky tin roof… we had some tin sheets left over from my husbands shop and I wanted to use a lot of what we already had so we could build something fast and cheap. Well the tin we have is very heavy duty and was too hard to manipulate over the top so we got some pretty cheap sheets of this flimsy tin and it was so easy to use! Doesn’t come out the greatest as it dents easily… but like I said, I didn’t want to spend too much and it will do the job
I added awnings to the sides because I didn’t like the idea of rain pouring inside the coop with it being angled like it is… so still trying to decide what I want to put there. Maybe just some clear plastic, ribbed sheets.. that way light can get in.. We can only work on it on the weekends so we should be done next Saturday… but I am gonna do what I can during the week…. I have some wire to add to the front and I am putting wire all on the floor… View attachment 4224092View attachment 4224093
It’s only right that the coop has wings tooWhat will be happening with the triangular protrusions on both sides?
Edit, nm: I went back and saw this:

My brain is pooped out.![]()
And, in an attempt to drag myself away from total silliness, you’ll increase the amount of shade and thus cooler area, if you don’t use a transparent cover. It’s only right that the coop has wings too![]()
Yes, that would be a good plan.. but it’s not necessary where this coop is… it’s in total shade all Summer.. and I was thinking clear so as to let more light into the coop… during the winter it will have some sun but shouldn’t be a problem then. But I also think it will be something that can be changed easily if neededAnd, in an attempt to drag myself away from total silliness, you’ll increase the amount of shade and thus cooler area, if you don’t use a transparent cover.
Very creative and what a great way to utilize what you have!We are very close!
