Forgot to say, I jsut want a small little duck that will go broody and hatch their own babies.

Call ducks are supposedly good moms...I've been incubating all of mine, but I figure if they show interest next year I'll let them set...
Even though they are standard ducks, khakis are very nice ducks too, and i'm sure you could get some at the feed store...

If you hand-raise your ducks from a young age, any duck will be more apt to be nice and, not exactly loving, but not opposed to being handled.

Mine were raised in the house. o_o;
It was a little stinky, since I had to order ten, but they're much nicer than if I had stuck them outside somewhere to fend for themselves.

I can say I've never been attacked by something as small as a duck...
If I had, I'd have attacked him back, given him a dose of his own medicine.

(obviously wouldn't have hurt him)

I did hand feed them, they followed me around everywhere. I guess could it have been the mating season?

i've been bitten by small ducks. they are good for finding a little bit of skin and whammo!

mating season will cause animals to go nutty sometimes. he was wanting his girl to himself maybe.

FYI, Calls are infamous for leaving their nests in the middle of incubation their first year. they are supposed to do much better the following seasons.
