All of our 2 Yr. old chickens stopped laying months ago!! Can't figure it out!

Second day- new egg - same evil chicken. She jumped at that egg like a duck on a junebug. Will do it again tomorrow. I wonder how many times before she will learn to not eat eggs.

I think she is playing the odds, if she is eating her eggs and ther others as well...odds are in her favor if you only put one mustard egg out a day. Most likely she is not the only one eating them, she may be the first to the prize but the others I'm sure are joining in.

BTW: Love your sign "Cackle Shack"

I have skipped a couple of days, but will put out several mustard eggs in the morning. Good point

OK now there is a mystery. I had workmen in and out of the chicken yard all day, so I locked the chickens in the run - hardwire cloth surrounds the entire thing and there is a door on the front, which I closed after I moved the water inside. I also put a mustard egg in there with them. I also put one in the back where I had a lone chicken in jail. That one is ok. The one in the run is completely gone- like it never existed. I don't think the workmen took it. I explained what it was and why it was there. So now what? I looked in the nesting boxes just in case they moved it to a more appropriate area- nothing. Didn't see it in the coop either. Hmmm.

LOL, just Frenches. I did put out another couple of eggs- one was pecked at pretty good. Still. I think Flora and Irene both may go to freezer camp in the spring. Flora definitely- Irene guilty by association. Missy is clear- she was in jail during this time. The egg I put in her enclosure was untouched. The most logical thing I can figure - either one of the workmen took the egg out of the run or more likely, there was a visitor to the coop and run when both the workmen and I were gone- a small window of a couple of hours. I have had evidence of a person - I think a kid - coming in the yard and messing with the coop and the shed. I have padlocks on the gates, but had them off because of the workmen. I dunno. Maybe aliens beamed that friggin egg up or maybe that crazy chicken ate the whole thing, shell, membrane and mustard.
