My rooster had been walking around, crowing nonstop. When I collected my hen, he followed me all the way to the little gravesite at the bottom of a sunny hill underneath a slippery elm tree. He had never been there before, to my knowledge. He continued crowing as I dug the grave. Crowed as I set her in. Crowed as I began to bury her. Then she was all buried. Now he is entirely silent.

Aw, I'm so sorry. Do you give them a sendoff? Mine get buried, I say goodnight, first bit of dirt is always a solemn handful.

Lost my 2yo BLW this afternoon. I don't know what was wrong with her. Very very sad. Her name was Tempera. I found her under a tree in a shady spot, it looks like she lay down and went to sleep peacefully.
