My solution for hair is to dump water on it until it stays down. That does not work for long hair.

Ahh, see that might work if my hair weren't waist length and curly, and if the low humidity didn't mean it dries within an hour, and if it weren't freezing temps here, and if the dress didn't require that my hair be out of the way and if etc etc etc.

Same here, though I did go grocery shopping today and that's always an adventure

I just moved across the country and going to Walmart was so weird. It's really different from the one I grew up with!
