All the Christian Homeschoolers!

While we are on the subject, what do you think of writing for example its, or whats, instead of it's or what's?
I know its not correct, but is it like a bad habit to fall into?
Sometimes the apostrophe is a possessive, and sometimes it is an indicator for 'it is' as it's. I could have used either after 'sometimes' in the previous sentence, but sometimes one of the forms is less awkward, so choose the less awkward form.
Possessive; Jones's house. The house that belongs to the Jones family.

Again, with what; what is going on? Or, what's going on?

Whatever's easiest sounds awkward to me.
Whatever is easiest
