All things Turkey poults

I tried the lifting up leg/sexing thing (dunno what to call it). They are too big now I think, I can't fit them in one hand to hold them like that.
Maybe they are 4 weeks old? I dont know!

Yay! Will you look at that cutie pie! Welcome to the world little one. And THAT is your guest of honor at thanksgiving this year! :love
As a matter of fact, to commemorate a birthday so close to thanksgiving, I’d name him or her- holiday, or Christopher, or Colombus, or the name of the boat- pinta Maria? Or something like that.
I like holiday. I have a friend who has a beloved house turkey named holiday. After all, all the cool kids have names symbolic to their birthday’s proximity to a celebration...
Hi, I’m Noelle, named because I was Born on December 22nd :) :lau
Congrats! That’s a keeper. Made my night! Again, welcome to the world little one! :jumpy:thumbsup:woot

congrats on the babies! how many did you end up with?? I hatched out some all spring for a friend and managed to hatch mine out in july and aug.... they are finally getting big. Just be warned it will become an addiction..... or at least for me it is. lol

3 babies so far. The 3rd pipped wrong end, so he's still needing some TLC.

The first 2 are doing well. And 4th egg is rocking away :fl

Oh Noelle (I love the name Noelle!), since you promoted me to quadruple check.. since my turkeys love insects & veggies, when I shred up the cucumber/apple/spinach etc, I've been tossing it in some cricket powder as an extra. Cricket powder (roasted ground crickets) is 70% protein or thereabouts, so it doesn't hurt to boost the veg, especially since they luuuuurrrvvvee veggie so much! :frow

Be very careful about boosting the protein too high. A level of 40% protein can cause gout in turkeys which implies kidney disease.
