Allergys

It must be horrible to suffer with allergies. People are always asking me if I worked with my bees lately. From what I can see, I can charge almost whatever I want for my honey and it will sell. The local ag store sells for me and he really pushes me to raid my hives, because he says that as soon as it hits his shelf, people start coming in that he never saw before telling him they heard he had honey and they need some for their allergic child. I really need to get on the ball in the spring.
I, personally, like to use elder. I make a glycerine soap with it which helps out with various skin irritations. I also might make a tea or put the leaves in pockets for heat rash. I have also put leaves in diapers for rashes. Not sure what it would for allergies, but I don't think it would hurt.

i myself am allergic to nearly all animals (even birds!) because of their dander. i love my chickens dearly and refuse to get rid of them, so when i get snotty & stuffed up or sneezy from them i take a mint tea bag and sniff it. sounds weird, but it clears up the sinuses right quick! it also works to inhale the steam from a really really hot wet tea bag. i haven't tried anything other than mint, but it works great for me!

I have terrible allergies to many things, and my Neti Pot is a lifesaver. You can get them at CVS or Rite Aid or wherever for about $20.
It sounds awful, but you mix up warm water and salt and pour it through your sinuses. It feels beyond weird for a moment, but now that I've got the hang of it, I look forward to it because I feel so much better afterwards!

I just used my Netti Pot for the first time tonight. It is a bit strange when you first use it. How often do you use it?

I buy the big generic bottle of Zyrtec at Costco.

From February to June, I would die without it.

My dd has allergies very bad, she is allergic to just about everything from bees to antibiotics. There in not 1 single antibiotic that she can take. The sad thing is she can't eat honey either, it makes her mouth start to tingle, and then her lips start swelling and then her tongue. she can tell if any food has honey in it cause her mouth starts to tingle and go numb then she starts swelling. She just about died on us a few years back because of a reaction to an antibiotic. She could take it as a baby, but she got an ear infection they put her on it then I get a call at work "Mommy, jennifer has these big huge welps coming up on her and she is itching" Well I get off work and have to rush her to er. dr. said if I hadn't got her in there she could have died cause her throat started swelling. Well then she was allergic to the meds they put her on to counter act the antibiotic. When she gets sick she just suffers through it cause she is afaid to take any meds now. Heck she can't even take tylenol, and ibuprofen knocks her out .

I really would suggest a visit with an allergist STAT. Someday she may have to take medications. It may be auto immune or hyperactive histamine response. Worth a work up.

she has been to an allergist and there is nothing we can do about it. they said she can take the Z-pak but she can only take it for 2 days instead of the 5, any longer than 2 days and it is risky. I hope she never has to have any major antibiotics they also said there is a possibility of bactrum but they dont know yet for sure
