Aloe Juice for Conjunctivitis?

Hi, all,

My red-gold pheasant chicks have conjunctivitis and I've read that Aloe Juice (pure) at room temp...directly dropped onto the eye...will cure it. Am also using Tylan oral as backup. Anyone used Aloe before with any success?

The important thing is to find out why the chicks have conjunctivitis which may be due to a respiratory disease or high ammonia levels that irritate the eye. I think that it might be better to treat the problem with Terramycin eye ointment or Vetericyn eye gel, and find out if the chicks have MG or some other disease. Here is a link about common diseases:
