Always molting

How many times a year is normal for a hen to molt? I have several hens that are molting for the third time in about 10 months. Averaging 0 to 2 eggs a day. They have good feed, fresh water and free range most days. Winter temps aren't extreme.

That sounds kinda extreme. Have you checked them for lice or mites? Also where are they molting? Everywhere, or just in certain spots? Sometimes they will pick each others feathers and eat them if they are bored or low on protein.

Checked for lice nothing. Some lose around neck and chest some lose feathers all over I'm beginning to think it's stress related. They have a secure pen and coop but I let them out during the day. About 2 months ago a falcon killed one. Stop letting them free range for a couple of weeks. Every time they hear or see a hawk or falcon (we have both) they run and hide for the rest of day.
