Am I a He or a She?

Well, Einstein is indeed a boy! He is growing into his title of Rooster, King of the roost, very well. He is, as my daughter calls it... "practicing" with the girls to make babies. lol. and luckily, he is the only Roo in the hen house.

Yesterday , we got a surprise in the coop when we went to let them out in the A.M. Our very first egg! One of the Leghorns has begun to lay. Then this morning we got another one, just a small tiny little thing... and this afternoon, another! The kids are so excited to go to the coop and see what they find. The girls are now 3 months , one week and 4 days old now. They are well, and happy.

they still love to untie shoe laces and play tug-a-war with them. lol they are so funny, and have such personality. Never thought i would love being a "chicken mom" but , i do. =)

Need more pictures of the first two. Hackle feather area.

Einstein's feathers are looking pointy, but the comb isn't red..yet.

Here's my roo that developed feathering late. Here his is about 11 weeks. Now, at about 16 weeks, his neck is no longer all grey. The neck is going tan/yellow and pointy as well as his saddle feathers. A late bloomer.

I'm sorry---I somehow missed the additional posts/pictures.

Asia looks like a girl. Einstein is a boy-duh since he is mounting (though I've seen many other female animals mount as an act of dominance). Penny is questionable, (I am NEW at this) but leaning toward girl. One of my four (all roosters) kept trying to mount a less dominate male. I kept hoping that one was a girl, but no luck.

All other birds are female! Einstein is definately a roo. crowing, doing his mating dance and mounting all the ladies in the coop. Our eggs have become about a doz a day so far. Just the leghorns so far... white extra large eggs. yesterday was our first brown egg from either the black australorpe or the black star.. (my daughter said it was one of the black ones... didnt know which was which...) Already have customers for the eggs and happy family members lol. Every day is a joy to have these little birds in my back yard. they are so much fun to watch and play with! cant wait for more brown eggs and the EE's to begin laying as well!

Einstein.... strutting his stuff...
