Am I all ready?!

I'm a cat person, but ironically I currently have no cats and five dogs. XD But, I love dogs, I just like how calm and bratty cats are.

Hahaha :D cats are pretty silly, maybe thats why there are so many funny cat videos? I'll trade my fluffy black kitty for one of your dogs! lol kidding

Don't let them scare you. Cats don't have a lot of vet bills if you keep them healthy. Neuter early to avoid spraying habits. As far as expenses of neutering and vaccinations, there are all kinds of low cost clinics offered for vaccinations, and vets advertise when they are doing low cost neutering. They hold vaccination clinics at stores like Petco.
Also, one thing you will definitely want to have is some sort of carry case for kitty. That doesn't have to be expensive either. Lots of vets sell heavy duty cardboard carriers, and they are probably sold at pet stores...or on Amazon. If you prefer you can invest in a crate, but those are fairly expensive.
Enjoy your new cat!

I was gonna say that... I just didn't wanna sound offensive. I HATE arguing threads :/
I think it's IMPERATIVE to spay/neuter you cat. I CAN NOT stress that enough! But either than that (and rabies shots too), vet costs are *usually* not too expensive ;D have fun with you new kitty! What are you gonna name her?

Don't forget the cat tree/kitty condo so s/he'll have an appropriate place to scratch (though I can pretty much guarantee scratching in non-preferred locations will occur at some point).

Cats are truly special creatures and will leave a lasting impression on your heart.

And don't get your cat declawed either. At least, I don't recommend it, since declawing is removing a cat's knuckles which is very painful, and can cause litter box problems later in life.
Instead, get little cat claw caps. I've heard those work very very well, you just need to replace them when they fall off. It's more comfortable for the cat, and doesn't give you any vet bills.
