Wish I could just dump it down the drain... But I have a septic tank so it would end up in my yard. (Sigh...) I just need to find a way to make him really understand (though now that he sprayed my compost pile I think my reaction is getting through better than the calm talks previously).
To show the lengths that I will go to... if you have ever heard of 'double digging' raised beds, you remove a shovel depth of soil. Then you get a pitchfork and loosen the subsoil. Add compost to the topsoil and put it back. When I was doing it, I also added compost to the subsoil and removed any weeds and roots that I saw. The double dug beds are great, even DH loves them. But there are only 2 beds 4'x 33'. Then I add compost every year in the fall, turn it under in the spring and mulch with straw. If I am willing to do the work, he should just leave it alone. Now I won't even use that compost pile so I have to start another one. And keep it hidden from him so when he 'forgets' again...
