What a BEAUTIFUL cockerel!!!!!!Im sitting in the veterinary clinic with my 9 month old EE cockerel Hiccup, for a possible dislocated leg. Have i gone off the deep end for spending the money on trying to fix a bird (a very beautiful one though) that is essentially a back yard mix!?

I would not recommend trying to splint this fracture. Your boy will be in pain with the slightest movement as he will not self restrict his movement like people do. Imagine yourself living with this fracture. I would recommend at home euthanasia with an ax to neck or cutting carotid arteries in neck. Look up humane butchering.Sadly the news is not good. It is indeed broken. I can't for the life of me figure out how, but unfortunately it is.

I don't see splinting it as really helping. And I can afford surgery to pin it. Oh, and euthanasia is $135!!! Ugg

I have to think of his best interests and not mine.
I agree completely, as sad as it will be, i think this is truly what's best for him.
