Am I dealing with early bumblefoot or not?

Sooo interesting development...my wife tells me today that Gunner was walking normal and not soft stepping around like yesterday. I went out to check on him...and the spot was gone.

Very strange but happy occurance. I'll continue to watch him but indeed an odd occurance.

So this is what Gunner's feet look like after his first Epsom salt bath. They feel like callouses, no warmth or swelling or even redness surrounding them. And the little spot is back again, but it is flat and also has no redness or swelling. The bath could have gone better, he is definately my most skittish male and certainly one of my most skittish flocklings, possibly because he is still quite young, only coming onto 7 months old. Could it be his feet toughening and developing his callouses? The rest of his feet are still quite soft.

Hopefully you can get the scabs to come off or fade with your treatment. What is the bedding he is on presently? Tricide Neo is a product that some use to get rid of bumblefoot with soaking instead of surgery. Here is some info:

Others try Prid a drawing salve, or betadine and sugar on gauze wrapped onto the foot in a dressing. If you do some Googling about bumblefoot, you can explore some different treatments.

I just put him on pine shavings yesterday in a quarantine dog crate. I've never seen bumblefoot look like this, I always thought it happens from one specific injury or area. So for Prid or the Tricide Neo, do I add that in addition to the Epsom salt, or just keep doing the Epsom salt for a few days and see how that goes?

Seems like Tricide Neo is quite popular, I'll give the Epsom salts a week or two and if no changes I'll try the Tricide Neo. Just hope it works as he has no inflammation, redness, swelling, or seemingly pain.
