Am I just delaying the inevitable?

I had a littlun thatg was way worse for wear. We had to cull, unfortunately, but it looks like she may have a chance if you're willing to help her out. I dunno. Hope she pulls through, tho.

Is she the only white you got? I ask because I have noticed there are some really tiny lines of whites out there. In fact, I have one sitting on eggs right now. I got her along with another white silkie, several black silkies, and some blues and splashes. She didn't grow as fast as the others and as a hen is much smaller. Since getting Sparkplug I have noticed at several shows that some of the whites are tiny like her. I know the whites were the first color to be "bred down" for size (although they are "true bantams," they are originally a larger bantam ... almost a medium bird in some lines ... outside the U.S. many lines are still larger). Perhaps some lines of whites reflect the additional time and emphasis they have received for the smaller size.

I wouldn't drive two hours for antibiotic eye ointment, unless you see evidence of infection, meaning pus. Actually you can put plain Neosporin ointment in their eyes, anyway; a vet taught me this trick years ago. I don't know why her eyes are watery but I wouldn't consider it infection in itself. She may not need any eye ointment. I wonder if you got a bit of food in an eye; would be so easy to do.

It sounds like you have turned the corner with her; I certainly hope so. I wouldn't wait too long to start some regular chick feed, moist if needed. And I'd put her with the others at least part of the time, though she may need to be given food separately for a while, til she can compete.

Good luck to both of you.

I got her in a mixed batch so she could be a white or maybe a splash. My other white is Jabba the Hut in comparison.

She has had the watery eye since I got her. She kinda kept one closed and it was a little wet and then the other one got that way. Maybe a better word would be glassy? It's wetter than the others but isn't puss-y or swollen.
