Exactly.
He may not be a "bad" neighbor, but just doesn't realize where the property line is.
Some men do not respect the views/knowledge of women. (speaking from experience here, my father is one) Our property has been fenced since we bought it. There was a HUGE land dispute that we were not aware of until we were 2 days from closing escrow, so we went through the surveying and fencing our property to keep it from being a problem later. Our neighbor (used loosely, as we are on 8 acres) is NOT a bad neighbor but he views women as helpless creatures that can't fend for themselves. I'm a strong, independent woman and I do a lot of work that most "old school" men would have a fit over. I have told my husband that I will not deal with him because he does not respect my opinion and will prompt any discussion with "have (husbands name) call me. I find him incredibly degrading and after so many years of having my father not respecting me because I'm a woman, I am not dealing with it anymore. I've always helped my husband with projects and he made me build my 2nd coop so I would know how to build if something ever happened to him. My DH understands and does not put me in situations where I have to deal with him. (and he knows that I'll get ticked off and tell this neighbor to go pound sand)
