Recently my runner duck has been having these fuzz around his bill, but I'm just noticing the black spots he's been having as well, I've had him for almost two years and don't know if this is normal or should he be taken to the vet? He's my first duck alongside with a Pekin who's bill is normal and healthy. They are my only pet ducks as well, any advice? Or concerns? Or is this normal shedding?

I'm sorry you never got help! I know nothing about ducks, but that looks like the nose to me.

I would like to know what the tiny black speckles are below his nose, though I don't know if it's clear in the photo, right where theirs greyish fuzz I don't know if it's normal or not, or if it could possibly be some kind of mold. But I would really appreciate any advice!

Hard for me to tell, but it could be mold growing..... a more zoomed out photo might help.
The grey fuzz doesn't look normal though.

@Jenbirdee - I am duxless, so I'm no help, here. Do you know what's going on with these black spots, or can you tap someone who might be able to help?

I don't know anyone with duck experience, where I live vet for ducks are hard to come by, usual more than 5 hours away. That's why I wanted to come here and ask if it's something I should be worried about

Me neither, but I tagged a friend with dux. Maybe she can figure it out for you. This is a great network!

I agree a zoomed out picture would be helpful. I have a lot of ducks and some have spots and some don’t. Sometimes they get dark spots from eating a lot of kale or other things like kale perhaps spinach . Turns out it’s not usually a problem. A lot of my ducks are varying amounts of it and have lived many years with it and has no problem. @ruthhope
