Am I the only MAN who's..

Well I'm a man, but I'm in touch with my feminine side. So she's probably mad because her and the baby are supposed to be the center of your life right now. Every woman worries about how much you really want the baby and of course how much you still want them in their altered state. You should slow down and redirect. She's supposed to be your primary focus right now. Hey the more kids you have the less of anything you get to have. Ultimate share time. Kids first.

WHAT!? Whats wrong with her!??? HOW can she not like chickens, ducks etc!?

you poor guy! hubby and I are co- enablers so I feel sorry for people who have trouble enabling their spouse

Be sure to discuss with her how having chicks/ducks it a great experience for a child. smile Maybe we should start a post of pics of little ones with chicks to show her how great it will be.

I forgot to add...this is a good one! My son has learned ALOT with having chickens. I bet your little one will LOVE them too. We have three kids and we do find plenty of time for lots of chickens too. Maybe have her read up on those chicken farms who cram those poor things in one tiny cage. That's how hubby became my co-enabler. PLUS the eggs are WAY healthier for the little baby and mommy to be

My husband's a bit older than me, I refuse to say how much exactly

Anyway, we don't have any kid's, I am to spoiled to share my toys

So he let's me pretty much have whatever kinda critter I might drag home, he thinks it's cheaper to feed them...
He say's he loves them, each and everyone, but it's like that George Strait song "She Knows Me Better Than That" he just tells me what I wanna hear. But as long as he does, I am fine with it.

O.K. well, I totally lost track of where this was heading, oh, yeah keep your critters, it'll blow over, it always does for me, after any complaining from him I just guilt him up and then I go out and get some more.

LOL did you just write on BYC for sympathy becasue you want more poultry? Hhahahaha, well it seems you did come to the right for understanding in that area!
My husband and I have very different hobbies and interests, and having been pregnant in that situation, I realize that a girl can start to feel "second rate" to a mans hobbies...(not to say I don't understand the desire for acquiring new animals) Also, when someone is pregnant cleanliness becomes HUGE in a girls mind, and she is probably equating more animals with more poop ( which is true isn't it:lau) just wait till the baby is a couple months old...I bet she'll be tickled pink to see you out enjoying your animals in a bit

PS, same boat. Wife always refers to them as "your critters"

Never mind that Einstein the wonder chicken will poop on someone on command... sheesh, thats talent!

First of all, your money is both of yours, I don't care who earned it, if you are married and having a child.

Second, her hormones are going nuts right now. You're expected to realize that and make allowances.

Obviously, a new duckling or an order from Ideal is not going to interfere with the child's nutrition or college education. But right now she needs some slack about her perspective.

Remember, she wanted to keep Jingo. Hold her hand, and get her through the delivery and postpartum hormone rages. Don't expect calm and reasoned thinking from a woman who is about to give birth, or who just did, for that matter. We aren't constructed that way.

Broody chickens aren't their usual selves, either. It sounds like it will all come out just fine if you don't overreact to what she is going through right now.
