My aunt loves cockatiels and turned her whole basement into an aviary.House. I am working on trying to figure out what the best thing to do with them is. I would love to find an indoor cage for them at night or when we are away. They roost in the highest place available so most cages are too short. In the meantime I have my bathroom floor covered with cheap tablecloths. The aviaries I’ve seen on line are either way too big or way to expensive.
Ooh, got any pics?My aunt loves cockatiels and turned her whole basement into an aviary.
I would love to see those also.Ooh, got any pics?![]()
She's precious! This girl had a slight respiratory issue last year, so I brought her inside to nurse her. She mainly lived in a large rabbit cage, but I'd let her out in the living room in the evenings when I was at home. She mostly stayed on top of a tv-tray-table that I taped a piece of fabric over, or she would hop over to the wood burning stove, or on the back of my recliner. (Had to break the stove habit, once we lit it up! lol)
Occasionally I'd bring another one in from outside for a few days, for some company for her. She got well, and finally went back outside this past spring. Even brooded a group of chicks. I have 2 different ones inside now.

She's precious!I have very nearly despaired of finding any diapers to fit an OEGB, so I go through wipies like Sherman through Detroit.
My house is usually pretty busy. They go home at night mostly.View attachment 1589073
